Ugg Australia are a massive brand, well known for making lots of different styles of Uggs for women but they also make shoes, sandals, handbags and accessories as well as boots, shoes and accessories for men and children. Now you might think that’s just a whole world of suede and sheepskin but they do use other materials to make some products (although there is quite a lot of sheepskin!).
From a humble start on a beach in Australia sheepskin Uggs have become huge worldwide and Ugg Australia is now the market leader in luxury and comfort. They were helped on their way by Oprah Winfrey in 2000 when she bought 350 pairs of boots for her entire staff, after being sent a pair of Ultra boots that she loved. She then featured the Ultra boots on her American television show “Oprah’s Favourite Things” reaching the whole of America. In November 2003 she featured Ugg Australia’s baby pink and baby blue Classic Ugg boots and their popularity soared that winter. Ugg Australia’s fairy godmother triumphed again in 2005 when she championed their Uptown boot on “Oprah’s Favourite Things”. And the rest is now history….
With Oprah’s help and the rest of the world’s press following suit Uggs from Australia reached the catwalks of Milan, Paris and New York and an entirely new category of footwear was born. From surfer chic beginnings to the famous feet of A-list celebs nowadays Uggs have mass appeal and everyone loves their comfort and style. Wearing a pair of Uggs out feels a bit like wearing your slippers at home so Ugg Australia naturally ventured into slippers and now they are creating warm-weather footwear and accessories as well.
You can wander round the house in style all winter in Ugg Australia’s Scuffette suede slippers, designed to keep your feet warm and toasty as they’re fully lined with sheepskin (of course). If you prefer the fluffy look the Fluff Scuff slippers are luxuriously fleecy inside and out. They even have an updated cork infused rubber outsole providing slipper traction! So they come with safety as well as style in mind.
Ugg Australia’s warm-weather products include comfort sandals such as the Gypsy, a flat thong style sandal with a cork infused rubber outsole. They’ve got a rich suede wrapped foot bed and sheepskin elements added for comfort so they’re kind of a summery, comfortable equivalent to Uggs. Perfect! If you don’t like thong posts between your toes you could go for their Nomad sandal, a slide style sandal, also with a cork infused rubber outsole.
Before it gets hot (well warm enough for us brave Brits to wear sandals) Ugg Australia make fabulous “spring coloured” uggs and their new range includes Ugg Classic Short SS boots in “tomato” and “aqua”. The colour “tomato” is slightly off-putting when you first hear it as you imagine them being bright red but they are more of a soft, salmony pink colour. Even that sounds slightly alarming so it’s best to have a look at them, as it’s quite a difficult colour to explain. The “aqua” colour is very pastel, almost a duck egg blue but kind of a greeny-blue. Again that doesn’t do them justice and it’s probably best to have a look at them. They are both gorgeous though and perfect colours for spring and as Ugg boots are designed to wick away any moisture inside when your feet get hot they are perfect for any weather. They are also really lightweight so you’ll have a spring in your step whatever the season.
Ugg Australia’s accessories include gorgeous suede and sheepskin gloves and handbags so you can accessorise to your heart’s content. So from the sunny beaches of Australia to the cold, rainy streets of the UK, Ugg Australia now encompasses the entire globe and caters for all weather conditions and occasions. Their high end, quality products provide comfort and style for millions of women, men and kids worldwide.
